About the role
We’re looking for a Staff Backend Engineer to lead the technical evolution of our platform as we scale from hundreds of thousands to millions of users. This role goes beyond coding — it requires system-level thinking, mentorship, and architectural leadership. As a Staff Engineer at Koyfin, you’ll partner closely with engineering leadership, product managers, and cross-functional teams to define and implement scalable systems that support the next stage of our growth. You’ll help shape the long-term technical vision while remaining hands-on with code and system design. What you’ll be doing?

Drive the architecture and technical roadmap for core backend services

Lead the design and implementation of scalable APIs and data processing pipelines

Guide critical initiatives that impact multiple teams and business areas

Collaborate with engineering leadership to raise the bar on system performance, reliability, and maintainability

Mentor engineers across teams and foster a culture of technical ownership

Debug and optimize distributed systems and large-scale data flows

Act as a force multiplier — identifying gaps, proposing solutions, and enabling others to move faster

Work with modern technologies including TypeScript, Node.js, NestJS, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, AWS, and Kubernetes
What we’re looking for

12+ years of experience in software engineering, with deep backend expertise

Proven experience designing and evolving backend architecture at scale

Knowledge of design patterns, algorithms, and system architecture

Strong knowledge of Node.js, NestJS (or similar), SQL, NoSQL, distributed systems, and caching strategies

Strong leadership qualities — capable of setting technical direction and rallying teams around it

Clear, concise communication skills — able to influence across functions and levels

We’re looking for a Senior Full-stack Engineer to help build the future of our investor data platform as we scale from hundreds of thousands to millions of users. You will be a key individual contributor responsible for the technical execution of our core product across both front-end and back-end tech stacks. What you’ll be doing?

Develop and maintain scalable features for our SaaS web platform using Typescrip

Develop delightful interactive front-end interfaces using React

Implement back-end RESTful APIs using Node.js and NestJS and integrate these with the user interface

Test, troubleshoot, debug and optimize production issues across diverse infrastructure, including databases, queues, caches, distributed microservices, and client-side data layers

Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code

Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other developers to understand financial data and build software that provides correct results

Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to improve performance, security and code quality

Identify and help prioritize technical debt to maintain a high team velocity
What we’re looking for

Proficiency with our tech stack across front-end and back-end: Typescript, React, Node.js, NestJS and MySQL/PostgreSQL; or proficiency in a similar modern languages and frameworks

Knowledge of public cloud technologies (e.g. AWS), container technologies (e.g. Docker/Kubernetes), and microservice architectures

A “get things done” problem solver with a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail

Clear, concise communication skills with demonstrated ability to collaborate well in an agile remote team environment

5+ years of experience as a software engineer with a proven track record of delivering long-term value

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field of study, or equivalent professional experience
