v3.74: Separately Managed Accounts (SMAs)

Separately Managed Accounts (SMAs) are now available in Koyfin.
Data source: SMA data is provided by Morningstar.

We’ve introduced coverage of more than 11,000 US SMAs.

An SMA is a private investment account where a professional money manager invests directly in securities on a person’s behalf. It’s not publicly traded. It’s an account structure, mainly used by wealthy investors for personalized portfolio management. You don’t buy an SMA; you open one through a wealth manager.

You can research SMA strategies, analyze performance, compare them to other funds, and include SMAs in Client Portfolios, Model Portfolios, and My Portfolios.

Net and Gross Versions of SMAs

Each SMA is available in two versions:

  • Net performance (includes fees)
  • Gross performance (excludes fees)

These versions appear as separate tickers:

  • The Net version uses the standard SMA name and SECID
  • The Gross version is labeled with (Gross) and uses a “.G” suffix in the ticker
    Example:
    • Net: SAUSA00488
    • Gross: SAUSA00488.G
